Walking or talking may will soon be deemed “uncool” for newborns, as a new type of activity emerges : tapping into the smartphone. We’re anxiously waiting for a new social media network for babies only. ‘Babybook’ or ‘Twinfant’ might soon give modern parents the chance of having more free time on their hands, while their offsprings will safely change status from the intimacy of their cradle.

At least this is what a new study suggest, after showing compelling figures about the behavior of American babies.
According to the survey, presented at Pediatric Academic Societies annual meeting, 1 in 7 American kids aged 6 months to 1 year use mobile devices on a daily basis. The numbers are evermore disturbing as some of the infants use such devices for more than 1 hour every day.
The survey was conducted over 370 parents, all owners of TV-sets, computers, smartphones or other similar devices. The American Academy of Pediatrics is very explicit about disapproving parental practices exposing infants to modern technology.

According the experts’ opinion, an overload of information could alter the infant’s brain activity, leading to potential psychological dysfunctions.
